Chase Alias is Missing Something: A Perfunctory Affair

Via Flickr:
So its a new look for a new year. Ya, its a little old school and grainy. But im trying to strip it down. Get back to the young conceptual artist Ive been missing so much. So for little while the lighting might be dim the shots may be grainy but the ideas are hot and the compositions are always pure Chase. Enjoy! Happy New Year!

'In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art. ” —Sol LeWitt

Chase Alias as Robert in Glass House: "So This is Christmas, Huh"

Via Flickr:
So this is Christmas, huh. Another year over and a new one about to begin. "What year is it anyway?" Robert thinks to himself. The last few years have all just sorts blurred themselves together in his mind. Bouncing around from house to house and state to state. Going where the cool wond Takes him. Ya dig! In one of Roberts rare moments of clarity he remembers to take his Atripla. "I hope these work this time" he says. He sure is happy with his gay doctor who understands him and his current lifestyle enough to give him the HIV drug prophylactically. Cuz in the last few night have been so unforgettable they remain a blur. With all of these guys throwing around all of these letters, T, C, G and D and no one stopping for a moment to even ask if he's poz. Let alone put one a condom. Condoms in this world are the taboo. What a word, what a christmas. Oh well, thinks robert, here's to a happy New Year.

This is a role being played by Chase Alias an actor. But for way too many young gay men out in the world, lost and alone, they play this role every day. Lets keep our wits about us when we go to blow our minds. Practice Safe Sex!

Happy and healthy New Year,
Chase Alias

Theorize Art Fair, 2012

Theorize Art Fair, 2012

'In conceptual art the idea or concept is the most important aspect of the work. When an artist uses a conceptual form of art, it means that all of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. The idea becomes a machine that makes the art. ” —Sol LeWitt
Theorize Art Fair is a premiere fair in the US dedicated to unrepresented artists. Conceptual Art Network's online presence consists of over 32 blogs and websites dedicated to photography and contemporary art.  The new art fairs will bring a physical aspect to our already well respected presence.
The simple, modest approach of the Theorize Art Fair offers an exciting alternative to the "Art Fair" experience for dealers and collectors as well as the general public. Theorize Art's main purpose is to create a meeting ground for outstanding unrepresented artists and the large public of contemporary art professionals. The fair serves as an invaluable resource for the artistic community and the general public.
As the fairs success grows and the platform evolves we now also accept applications from Contemporary art dealers, emerging galleries, curators and non-profit organizations. Artists from these groups shall remain open to working with other art professionals.
Our organization, Conceptual Art Network offers artists the opportunity to be a part of the unique and important cultural environment that manifests the week of March 8-11, 2011. Hundreds of thousands of art enthusiasts travel to the city to see and buy Art. The Armory Show, Scope, Volta and Pulse are the leading shows during this period, with an established tradition of cultivating art buyers and curators. This is the best week of the year to show work in NYC. It is a unique opportunity for gallery owners, curators and other art enthusiasts to discover artists that are not shown in the other art fairs.
Artists are able to sell work while expanding their network as well as receiving invitations to exhibit or create site-specific work by others.
The 4-day exhibition includes curated exhibitions, lectures addressing the challenges of the current art world along with special projects and events.
